Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Production Manager Trainee who will learn and certify in all farm department operations, from breeding to finishing, under supervision.

This role emphasizes environmental compliance, animal welfare, and leadership development as part of the company’s training program. You will work toward Leadership Certification, manage reports, and step in as acting HOD when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field or enrolled student with anticipated graduation by end of current semester.
• Must work an average 48-hour week, including weekends/evenings/holidays.
• Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft software.

Responsibilities

• Learn and become certified in all farm department areas under supervision.
• Develop and prepare required reports on experiences and opportunities for improvement.
• Comply with IPS, biosecurity, animal welfare, and EMS policies.
