Job summary

Smithfield Hog Production is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform building, repairs and maintenance work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager at our Milford site. You will support production by keeping equipment and facilities in good working order and by following safety and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities include scheduling work with farm managers, stocking supplies, completing work orders, and complying with OSHA trenching standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance, construction, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair, welding and plumbing.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with Smithfield Maintenance.
• Must be able to operate a 4WD truck and trailer.
• Must be willing to follow safety and environmental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repairs as requested by production and directed by the maintenance leader.
• Schedule work with the farm manager and coordinate help from farm employees.
• Minimize driving time by stocking supplies on the service truck.
• Complete work promptly and submit final reports on work orders.
• Maintain compliance with environmental laws and Smithfield procedures.
