Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on farm equipment and facility systems at our production sites.

You will identify parts, troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and water systems, and ensure compliance with all safety policies and SOPs. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience; an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or Electrical is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; 2+ years maintenance experience.
• Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of AC/DC controls and power electricity.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
• Fabrication and welding experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on farm equipment.
• Identify parts needed to build/complete projects.
• Troubleshoot and repair potable water and ventilation systems.
• Maintain electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Install, fabricate, and repair mechanical components.
• Follow all safety policies and SOPs.
• Wear required PPE and adhere to company policies.
• Receive and execute work orders from supervisor.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
