Job summary

Safe Families Oklahoma, a project managed by It’s My Community Initiative, seeks a social work leader to connect local churches with vulnerable families and empower volunteers.

You will assess needs, make referrals for housing, employment, mental health, and other services, document case notes, train regional volunteers, and collaborate with community partners to expand support networks.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work preferred.
• 5+ years experience in social services or related fields; exception may apply in lieu of degree.
• Experience with database/management information systems preferred.
• Familiarity with faith-based programs and outreach, intake, and case management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; strong verbal and written communication.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Screen referrals to confirm program eligibility and conduct intake assessments.
• Provide referrals to community resources and educate participants about available services.
• Advocate for participants and support self-sufficiency.
• Complete program documentation and case notes in the Safe Families database.
• Coordinate volunteer training opportunities and connect volunteers with church partners.
• Collaborate with regional leaders to engage communities and local nonprofits.
