Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health, seeks a Parent Educator to support Parenting Support Services. The role includes interviewing families, identifying needs, linking to community resources, and coordinating with other providers in diverse communities.

A bachelor’s degree is required; one year in human services and experience with home visiting and groups are preferred. Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred and reliable transportation is required; some sites may require travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required.
• One year in human services or equivalent; home-visiting experience and group work preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking strongly preferred.
• Own reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Interview families in home or office to discuss participation in Parenting Support Services.
• Obtain information about child rearing, budgeting, lifestyle, and social interests.
• Educate families about parenting, budgeting, resources, home environment, advocacy, and related topics.
• Explain program parameters, purposes, and limitations in the client’s environment.
• Review progress with family and supervisors to revise goals as needed.
