Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, seeks a Parent Educator to support Parenting Support Services across multiple sites. This grant-funded role emphasizes building trust, linking families to resources and coordinating care with other providers for developmental needs of children.

Responsibilities include home or office interviews, discussing child-rearing and budgeting, and educating families on healthy relationships and community resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with experience in human services or related field.
• At least 1 year in human services; home-visiting or group work preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills; cultural sensitivity; ability to connect with families in crisis.

Responsibilities

• Interview families in home or office to assess participation suitability.
• Gather information on child-rearing, budgeting, lifestyle, and social interests.
• Educate families about parenting, resources, home environment, advocacy and relationships.
• Explain program purposes, functions and limitations in the client environment.
• Review progress with supervisor and assigned worker to adjust goals as needed.
