Job summary

The Salvation Army in the United States is seeking a Family Store Assistant Manager to support the store manager in planning, administering, and evaluating day-to-day operations. You will work with store associates to assist customers and act as manager in the manager’s absence.

The role includes supervising clerks, training, bank deposits, and contributing to customer development and policy communication, with a focus on safety and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (required).
• Associates degree (preferred) or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 2 years experience in retail sales.
• Must have and maintain a current valid chauffeur’s license and pass the Salvation Army MVR.
• Complete Safe From Harm training and keep current.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clerks to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
• Assist with training for new staff.
• Ensure cash receipts are banked at end of day and reports sent to appropriate personnel.
• Attend monthly managers' meetings and communicate policy changes.
• Support customer development and retention initiatives for excellent experience.
• Report safety hazards and protect people and property.
• Report any detrimental behavior to the Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
