Job summary

The Salvation Army Family Store in Michigan seeks a dedicated Family Store Assistant Manager to support the store manager in daily operations and to serve as acting manager when needed. You will work with store staff to assist customers and maintain policy compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising clerks, training new staff, handling cash, attending monthly meetings, driving customer development, and reporting safety hazards. Strong retail experience is required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
• Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint.
• Proficient in operating Point of Sales System.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clerks to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
• Assist with training for new staff.
• Ensure cash receipts are banked at end of day and reported as required.
• Attend monthly staff meetings for managers and relay new policies.
• Assist with leadership of customer development and retention plans for excellent customer experience.
• Report safety hazards and protect personnel and property.
• Report detrimental behavior to Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
