Job summary

International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Family Navigator Coordinator to help clients gain employment and achieve long-term self-sufficiency. The role involves coordinating workshops, education opportunities, and referrals across IRC programs and community partners.

Ideal candidates have an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, 2–3 years in human services, and knowledge of VA public benefits. Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years of experience in human services, health navigation, education or nonprofit programs; immigrant/refugee populations preferred.
• Knowledge of Virginia and/or US public benefits, health or school systems preferred.
• Fluent in English; additional languages (Spanish, Dari, Farsi, Pashto) desired.

Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain a resource list for clients, including healthcare options.
• Coordinate initial health screenings and health education materials.
• Build and sustain partnerships; coordinate education opportunities through workshops for clients.
• Coordinate referrals and access to services to support long-term stability.
