Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or 3-4 years' experience in Human Services.
• Ability to communicate effectively; orally and in writing.
• Knowledge and practice of conflict resolution and facilitation of meetings.
• Ability to maintain professional limits and boundaries.
• Skilled in computer applications and accurate data entry.
• Knowledge of special education laws.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with families to identify and assess needs.
• Provide direction to families in times of crisis.
• Encourage families to acquire skills to meet family needs.
• Inform families of family support options and connect with resources.
• Keeps informed of state laws and regulations.
• Develops department procedures within agency and state guidelines.
• Keeps informed of community resources to support families and answer questions.
• Maintains children's files to meet regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Ensures absolute confidentiality with respect to information records.
• Represents the agency and services at state and local conferences and meetings.
• Attends at minimum two Family Council Events per calendar year
