Job summary

SCI is seeking a Family Service Counselor to serve client families by arranging at-need cemetery services and selling pre-need plans. You will generate revenue and act as the primary contact for families, delivering personalized service with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities include lead generation, building trusted relationships, and coordinating with funeral directors to ensure seamless, high-quality service. The role requires flexible hours and a focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1-2 years of college or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience preferred.
• Current driver's license with acceptable driving record; insurance license if required by state.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation: prospect daily, obtain referrals, network locally, present to families, track activity.
• Build relationships: respond to inquiries, listen to families, tailor solutions, stay in touch.
• Teamwork: collaborate with funeral directors and staff to provide seamless service.
• Prepare for appointments and handle all procedures with professionalism.
• Educate families about pre-planning benefits and request referrals when appropriate.
