Job summary

AKRON METROPOLITAN HOUSING AUTHORITY seeks a Service Coordinator for the Family Self-Sufficiency Program to coordinate supportive services and empowerment activities. You will assess residents’ needs, develop case plans, and connect participants with resources to boost economic security and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities include maintaining relationships with social service organizations, documenting progress in ETO, and collaborating with the Resident Services team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field and 1-3 years experience in a social service setting.
• LSW preferred. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable under AMHA’s policies.

Responsibilities

• Interview residents to assess personal and family concerns and needs; identify obstacles and resources to address identified needs.
• Refer residents to appropriate supportive services, community agencies, and resources; support residents’ efforts toward self-sufficiency.
• Develop case plans with residents individually or as a family and mobilize resources to improve social functioning.
• Enter case notes and data in ETO and other databases; assist with grants and reporting as required.
• Collaborate with RS team and community organizations to coordinate services and programs.
• Monitor escrow balances and review eligibility for programs; communicate issues to supervisors as needed.
