Job summary

Houston Housing Authority is seeking a Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator to develop and deliver counseling and referral services for residents in the FSS program. The role supports planning, implementing, and monitoring program activities, reporting results to the Supervisor.

The Coordinator will engage with public and private agencies, conduct participant interviews, determine eligibility, and coordinate services to enhance families' self-sufficiency and success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or related field preferred.
• 3–4 years experience in public housing, counseling or social work.
• Bondable.
• Valid Texas driver’s license within 30 days of employment.
• Eligibility for Houston Housing Authority fleet auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services for Family Self-Sufficiency program participants and agencies.
• Organize meetings and coordinate the Program Coordinating Committee.
• Screen applicants and determine eligibility for FSS participation.
• Maintain contact with community agencies providing services for FSS.
• Prepare contracts, needs assessments and referrals for participants.
• Prepare annual reports on FSS results for HUD.
