Job summary

Volunteers of America - Greater New York, Inc. is seeking a Family Monitor to support families at the Bushwick Family Residence in Brooklyn.

The role includes escorting residents, enforcing house rules, and handling incident reporting and crisis intervention to ensure a safe, supportive environment. The position involves welcoming new families, managing reception and security rounds, and transporting clients when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One-year relevant experience in a social services setting.
• Good interpersonal skills and basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and security of all families in the facility including enforcement of facility rules and regulations.
• Maintain appropriate helping relationship with families and respond to their needs and concerns.
• Provide functions, including new family registration, reception of visitors, security rounds, and other designated functions.
• In the absence of a driver, drive facility vehicle for transportation of clients.
• Participate in scheduled team meetings and case reviews on assigned client families.
• Perform other related duties as requested.
