Job summary

Bethany Christian Services in Illinois seeks a Safety Case Manager to oversee in-home safety plans, provide crisis intervention, and coordinate services for children and families. Travel and after-hours availability are expected to support safety and permanency goals.

A Master’s or Bachelor’s in social work plus relevant experience, and CWEL/CERAP certifications upon hire, are required. Role emphasizes collaboration with IFS Workers, safety service providers, and community partners to maintain

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work with two years of child and family welfare experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work with three years of experience in child and family welfare.
• Must meet the qualifications for a Qualified Mental Health Professional as defined by state rules.
• Must obtain CWEL and CERAP certifications upon hire.
• Ability to engage, develop, and maintain relationships within diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage in-home safety services under the Impending Danger Plan daily to weekly.
• Coordinate safety service providers and ensure plan implementation.
• Provide weekly updates to the IFS Worker on safety provision and sufficiency of the plan.
• Respond to disruptions in safety services and arrange alternative coverage.
• Deliver or coordinate safety-related interventions (behavioral management, crisis management, separation supports).
• Document services and contracts in the DCFS case management system; keep weekly notes.
• Provide crisis support to clients, including after-hours availability.
• Assist with housing or school issues and conduct weekly home visits.
• Support Intact program case management for the assigned region as needed.
• Attend court hearings and file required court documents; travel regularly.
