Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care as part of the family medicine team. The APP coordinates medical specialty involvement, assists with diagnosing, treating, and planning discharge, and participates in resident and student education.

The position emphasizes evidence-based care, professional standards, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (CCNE-accredited) required.
• Nurse Practitioner national certification required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as RN/APRN in WV.
• BLS required with ALS at department discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for family medicine patients in ambulatory settings.
• Performs pre-procedure Evaluations and acute/wellness visits.
• Develops and coordinates plans of care with the health care team.
• Coordinates tests or consults per clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Communicates results of diagnostic tests and abnormal findings to care team.
• Educates residents and nursing students as applicable.
