Job summary

WVU Medicine seeks an Advanced Practice Professional to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team. The APP assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages patients within their scope of practice and area of specialty, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

The role emphasizes evidence-based care, professional standards, and alignment with departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• BLS certification with ALS/ACLS training at department discretion.

Responsibilities

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests and examines patients.
• Instructs and counsels patients on prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic tests and makes management decisions.
• Prescribes therapy or medication electronically when available.
• Educates and coordinates with medical assistants during care.
• Provides emergency support following policy and procedures.
• Communicates with staff and administration to support operations.
