Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to coordinate and manage behavioral medicine patients within the hospital and ambulatory settings. The APP collaborates with medical/surgical teams to develop comprehensive care plans and reviews them with the clinical team.

The role includes performing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, guiding ongoing management, and educating residents and nursing students in alignment with state law and hospital regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an APRN in West Virginia.
• BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the department’s discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for behavioral medicine patients and their families.
• Completes daily rounds and integrated assessments.
• Orders additional tests or consults as deemed appropriate in collaboration with faculty or guidelines.
• Performs and communicates results of diagnostic tests following clinical guidelines.
• Coordinates discharge planning and referrals for outpatient follow-up as applicable.
