Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional RN and Advanced Practice RN in West Virginia.
• Basic Life Support Certification required with ALS/ACLS training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests such as x-ray and POC labs.
• Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
• Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapies and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
• Makes diagnoses and management/treatment decisions for patients.
• Records patient medical data using the Meditech EMR.
• Performs injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care and infection management.
• Prescribes therapy or medication electronically when available.
• Educates and coordinates activities with medical assistants during care.
• Provides emergency support following established policies and procedures.
• Communicates with staff, medical staff and administration in support of operations.
