Job summary

West Virginia University Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Professional to provide patient-centered care within the family medicine team. The APP collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and manage patients in their scope of practice.

The role requires a Master’s in Nursing or PA degree, national certification, and WV licensure. Experience in family medicine is preferred; BLS is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the department's discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for family medicine patients and their families in the ambulatory setting.
• Consults and/or pre-procedure/evaluations, acute visits and wellness visits.
• Completes integrated assessments.
• Performs and communicates results of diagnostic tests following established clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
• Develops a comprehensive individualized plan of care for family medicine patients.
