Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Family Experience Leader to create a joyful, safe, and inclusive environment for children and families. You will support holistic youth development through engaging Family Programs and ensure high-quality care in early childhood and drop-in spaces.

Under the Family Experience Director, you will deliver activities, greet participants, and help plan events while upholding YMCA values and policies. This role is community-focused and collaborative.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering activities and experiences for children and families.
• Supports holistic youth development through Family Programs.
• Provides direct service in early childhood and drop-in child care spaces.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet youth and families to foster belonging and inclusion.
• Assist in planning and delivering Family Experience programs and events.
• Deliver safe, nurturing care in Stay & Play, Interactive Zone, and other drop-in spaces.
• Follow YMCA policies to maintain a safe and energetic environment.
• Complete opening and closing procedures accurately.
• Communicate schedule and ensure shift coverage as needed.
• Model YMCA core values in all interactions.
• Participate in required trainings and meetings.
