Job summary

Luzerne County Head Start is seeking a Family Educator for the EHS Home Visiting Program. The role focuses on delivering early developmental services to children birth to age three and supporting families in their caregiving roles.

The Family Educator will plan weekly home visits, build trusting relationships with families, and connect them with relevant community resources to promote healthy child development and family self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• AAS or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience in instructing adults preferred.
• Fluency in English; Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Home Visitor services in the EHS Home Visiting Program.
• Deliver early child development services for birth to age three.
• Develop individualized weekly home visits and establish professional relationships.
• Link families with appropriate services to promote self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• AAS Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Child Development or closely related field; BS Degree preferable
• Three years experience in InfantToddler child care with the knowledge of principles of child health safety and nutrition adult learning and family dynamics
• Experience in instructing adults
• Candidate with Fluency Read Write Speak in English
• Spanish preferred

Responsibilities / Duties

• Provide support services in the Early Head Start EHS Home Visiting Program as a Home Visitor
• Provide early continuous intensive and comprehensive child development services to children birth to age three that honor their unique characteristics enhancing their physical social emotional and intellectual development
• Plan and develop an individualized weekly home visit for each family including establishing a caring professional relationship with them
• Provide family support services and link families with appropriate agencies and services that enable parents to fulfill their roles as parents and to move toward self sufficiency
