Job summary

Luzerne County Head Start is seeking an Associate Teacher to support early childhood education for 3- and 4-year-olds. The role involves implementing engaging activities and maintaining a classroom environment aligned with school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices.

The incumbent assists the Head Start Teacher in planning and delivering educational activities to meet national standards and local plans, contributing to a supportive, standards-driven classroom experience.

Qualifications

• ECE credential or HS Diploma with CDA/AA planned within 2 years.
• Bilingual abilities with English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement educational activities to promote school readiness for 3–4 year olds.
• Assist Head Start Teacher in planning and carrying out activities meeting standards.

FULL TIME 375 hrswk Working a school schedule 10 months August June annually with an established summer break between school years

Rate of Pay Based On Education

• AA in ECE Degree 1844hr CDA 1682hr HS DiplomaGED 1627hr
