Job summary

Children’s Friend in Rhode Island is seeking a Family Development Supervisor to lead a team of Family Advocates and Home Visitors across the agency’s catchment area, including Providence, Pawtucket, and Central Falls. You will supervise staff, oversee home visiting services, and promote trauma-informed, strength-based family support.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field (Master’s preferred), at least five years with at-risk families, and two years of supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Family Development, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of five years’ experience with at-risk children and families.
• Minimum of two years’ staff supervision experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of home visiting, family development, and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support staff (Family Advocates and Home Visitors).
• Oversee home visiting and family engagement to help families set and achieve meaningful goals.
• Promote strengths-based, trauma-informed practices that support families.
• Build community partnerships with agencies and service providers to coordinate services.
• Monitor program quality and ensure compliance with Head Start and Early Head Start requirements.
• Oversee multiple sites across the catchment area and support staff at different locations.
