The State of Indiana invites applications for a Family Case Manager in Decatur, serving Adams County and surrounding areas. You will protect children and support families, pursuing permanency through reunification, guardianship, or adoption in line with DCS goals.

Eligible candidates have 2+ years in human services or related education, knowledge of social work principles, and ability to work with diverse families. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of social work, casework, sociology and counseling methods.
• Knowledge of state/federal laws affecting child protection and adoption.
• Ability to investigate alleged victims/perpetrators of abuse.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate reports.
• Ability to work with diverse families with sensitivity.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Investigate reported child abuse/neglect and determine substantiation.
• Assess risk to children and arrange protective measures as needed.
• Perform needs assessments for families and children.
• Prepare reports and briefing materials for court and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop case plans to promote family self-sufficiency and permanency.
• Monitor service providers for alignment with case plans.
• Attend home studies, reunification and adoption activities.
• Maintain data to analyze trends in family needs.
