The Family Case Manager position with the Department of Child Services is based in North Vernon, Indiana and serves Jennings County. You will protect children, support families, and work toward safe, permanent homes through reunification or adoption when appropriate.

Key duties include investigating abuse/neglect, assessing risk, developing case plans, testifying, and coordinating services with providers. A degree or extensive HS experience is required, with state benefits and growth

Formación

• Associate degree with 2+ years of human services experience, or
• 30 college credits with 4+ years of human services experience, or
• 5+ years of human services experience.
• Advanced knowledge of social work, casework, sociology and counseling.
• Knowledge of state/federal child protection laws and standards.
• Ability to coordinate work across programs.
• Ability to interview alleged victims and perpetrators.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate reports.
• Ability to work with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Must have valid driver's license.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate reported child abuse or neglect and determine substantiation.
• Assess risk and may remove a child to a protected environment.
• Perform needs assessments for families and children.
• Testify and prepare progress reports for court.
• Develop case plans to help families achieve self-sufficiency.
• Monitor service providers for case plan adherence.
• Accept on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Visit children in placements to coordinate reunification or guardianship.
• Maintain data to evaluate trends.
