Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a Family Case Manager in Anderson to protect children and support families. You will conduct home visits, develop case plans, coordinate with resources, and testify in court when needed.

This full-time role serves Madison County with the aim of permanency, reunification, or independent living for children. A valid driver’s license is required and extensive training is provided.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with at least 2 years of human services experience.
• Completion of 30 college credit hours with at least 4 years of human services experience.
• 5+ years of human services experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Advanced knowledge of social work, casework, sociology and counseling.
• Thorough knowledge of state and/or federal laws affecting child protection and related services.
• Ability to work with diverse families and sensitive cultures.
• Ability to investigate and interview victims and alleged perpetrators of abuse/neglect.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate case reports and briefs.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported child abuse/neglect and determine substantiation.
• Assess risk to the child and decide on protective actions.
• Perform needs assessments and develop treatment options.
• Testify and prepare reports for court or agency use.
• Develop case plans to promote self-sufficiency and permanent homes.
• Coordinate with community resources and external providers.
• Conduct home visits and maintain case files and documentation.
• Occasionally participate in on-call duties and court appearances.
