Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks a Family Case Manager in Gary, Indiana to protect children and support families within the Department of Child Services. You will conduct home visits, develop case plans, coordinate with community resources, testify in court, and prepare documentation for filings and reporting.

This position supports Lake County and surrounding areas, with responsibilities including permanency planning, reunification, guardianship, and adoption efforts on behalf of Hoosier children.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of social work principles and practices.
• Experience in casework and counseling with diverse families.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate reports and testimony in court.
• Ability to coordinate with community resources and external providers.

Responsibilities

• Protect children and families from abuse/neglect.
• Develop case plans and coordinate services.
• Attend court hearings and testify as needed.
• Maintain and file case documentation and reports.
• Support reunification, guardianship, or adoption when appropriate.
