Qualifications

• Credentials: Associate degree with minimum 2 years human services job experience or 30 college credits with 4+ years experience or 5+ years experience.
• Advanced knowledge of social work principles and casework including counseling methods.
• Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards affecting child protection, foster care, and adoption.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported child abuse/neglect and determine substantiation and disposition.
• Assess risk and determine if removal or protective environment is needed.
• Develop needs assessments and treatment plans for families and children.
• Prepare reports and briefs for court hearings and agency, manage case files.
• Develop case plans to promote self-sufficiency and permanent outcomes for children.
• Attend home visits and coordinate with community resources and providers.
• Maintain data to evaluate trends in family and child needs.
