Job summary

D7 Pneumatics LLC is seeking a highly skilled Millwright with welding capabilities to join our maintenance division for scheduled fall shutdowns. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial machinery across steel mills.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical systems, a strong understanding of welding techniques, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in steel mills, sawmills, and power plants.
• Strong welding experience, particularly MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, with the ability to work with steel, stainless steel, etc.
• Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, high elevations, and extreme temperatures.
• Must adhere to all safety protocols and demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, conveyors, crushers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other industrial machinery in coal mining operations, sawmills, and auto plants.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding for repairs and fabrication of parts, structures, and equipment; conduct welding inspections for quality and safety.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
• Assist with installation, alignment, and commissioning of new equipment in mining, sawmill, and automotive production lines.
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements; keep work areas safe and clean.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and management to ensure efficient operations.
• Apply strong troubleshooting skills to identify mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.
