Job summary

Total Safety is seeking a Tech I – Fall Protection in Taylor, TX to inspect, repair, test, and certify fall protection equipment and maintain our rental fleet. You will document repairs, prepare estimates, and ensure compliance with safety standards while supporting shop and field duties.

The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and strong safety practices. Requires travel to customer sites, valid driver’s license, and willingness to obtain forklift certification if needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years of experience in fire protection, industrial safety, petrochemical, refinery, or related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Forklift experience is preferred; willingness to obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, clean, service, repair, reassemble, test, and certify fall protection equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections and functional testing to identify issues and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Prepare repair estimates and communicate recommendations to customers.
  • Complete inspection reports, repair documentation, work orders, and data entry accurately and on time.
  • Maintain rental equipment to ensure it is clean, tested, and ready for deployment.
  • Assist with inventory management, stocking shelves, staging equipment, and loading orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support additional shop and field responsibilities as assigned.
