Job summary

3M is seeking a Fall Protection Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair fall protection equipment onsite in Pasadena, TX. The role involves disassembled inspections, identifying non-conforming parts, and performing repairs with hydraulic and electrical tools.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and two years of manufacturing or mechanical repair experience, plus experience training others. Travel up to 5% may be required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years manufacturing and/or mechanical repair experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Two (2) years training customers, venders, and/or colleagues in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Two (2) years of blueprints and repair diagrams as an assembly aid, experience in a private, public, government or military environment
• Two (2) years working independently or with a team on new product non-conformances (NC’s), identifying and/or correcting defects in materials or workmanship
• Two (2) years navigating 3M production and inventory software experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate disassembled inspections of fall protection equipment, including identification and documentation of all non-conforming parts.
• Make quality determinations based on a visual inspection and able to detect and correct equipment non-conformances based on operating characteristics.
• Set up and operate electrical and hydraulic controlled metalworking tools to make and repair service parts.
• Work within a group to meet department goals and company-wide objectives.
• Maintain strong work ethic and aim to exceed customer expectations for quality of service and timeliness of repairs.
