Job summary

Young World Physical Education is looking for a Golf Varsity Coach for Westfield High School for the Fall 2026 season. The coach will be responsible for teaching golf, supervising the team, and ensuring student-athlete welfare.

This position offers a stipend between $2,803 and $3,051, commensurate with the Westfield Public Schools contract. All applicants must fulfill the necessary background checks and certifications before working with students.

Job Requirements

• Qualities and characteristics: emotional stability, willingness to serve as a role model, knowledge of and ability to teach the theory and practice of golf to secondary school-age students, emphasis on team play, obedience to rules, good sportsmanship, knowledge of the sport, consideration for other sports activities in the school, ability to work cooperatively with other members of the coaching staff and with school administrators.
• All coaches are expected to abide by the rules of the school and governing bodies, be present from the first tryout day until the last day of the season, supervise the teams at all times, collect uniforms and equipment at the end of each season, maintain a fair, unprejudiced relationship with athletes, and consider the physical and mental welfare of athletes.
• Prior to working with any students, complete the following: CORI background check, fingerprint-based state and national background check, annual NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification, current CPR certification from an approved agency. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
