Shelby County Schools seeks a leader to supervise the fall school site operations, enforce district and state policies, and ensure safety and orderly execution of all activities. The role involves coordinating with host schools on facilities use, distributing students and staff, and managing communications with district leadership for updates and issues.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Education or related field plus substantial teaching/training experience and active SCS assistant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field with a minimum of four years of teaching or training experience, or an equivalent combination totaling eight years.
• Active SCS Assistant Principal in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day operations of the fall school site.
• Ensures compliance with state, district, and fall school policies; submits required documents.
• Collaborates with host school administration on facilities use and resources (textbooks, supplies, spaces).
• Monitors district communications and maintains contact for issues and updates.
• Assigns teachers to distribute students equitably; reviews Emergency Management Plan; secures staff belongings.
• Conducts staff orientation; clarifies site boundaries and approved technology use; holds staff financially responsible for losses.
• Establishes and monitors safety and security protocols for dress, restrooms, supervision, and visitor procedures.
• Verifies student enrollment, rosters, and class assignments.
• Arrives early; ensures site readiness, climate control, and back-up class relocation plans.
• Monitors classroom operations and behavior; supervises lunchroom activities.
• Applies Code of Conduct; documents offenses; minimizes instructional time loss.
• Ensures end-of-day departure, security, and staff timesheet submission.
• Monitors attendance and engages with parents to reinforce expectations.
• Ensures grades are computed and graduation lists are prepared for management review.
• Oversees school closing and returns supplies to proper sites.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
