Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant to support fall classroom activities and supervision of students. The role includes preparing instructional materials, assisting in instruction, and coordinating with teachers during the fall term.

Responsibilities cover supervising students in multiple settings, maintaining records, assisting with assessments, and helping with special needs students as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree or two years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours) or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test and one year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist fall teachers in maintaining a well-organized classroom during fall term.
• Supervise students in classrooms and other areas of the school; assist with activities.
• Reinforce classroom lessons and assist students, including those with special needs.
• Maintain student records, attendance, and assist with tests and grading as needed.
• Escort and supervise students on buses, field trips, tests, lunch, and during activities.
• Participate in special programs and coordinate fall break learning activities as required.
