The role requires a Bachelor's in Education with a Tennessee teaching certificate, and a commitment for the entire fall period, including preparatory sessions and potential post-start closeout activities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and an endorsement in the grade/subject taught with a valid Tennessee certificate.
• Commitment for the entire period of fall school.
• Attendance at ALL preparatory planning sessions and periodic administrative meetings.
• Availability prior to the end of the regular school assignment contract to participate in fall school setup and preparation.
• Availability for fall school closeout operations which may occur after the new academic year contract has started.

Responsibilities

• Creates a fall school educational environment conducive to learning for students in designated grades.
• Establishes classroom behavior standards and maintains classroom management.
• Assesses student progress and provides written and oral reports to parents/administration.
• Plans fall school curriculum and prepares lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Confers with parents and resource staff to develop educational programs.
• Creates learning materials geared to students’ abilities and interests.
• Instructs students using strategies to improve development across multiple domains.
• Provides continuous assessment and feedback to students.
