Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools seeks an Educational Assistant to support fall term classrooms during the Fall Break Learning Academy. The role focuses on assisting teachers with instructional materials, setup, and supervision of students to ensure a smooth, organized environment.

Responsibilities include helping small groups, maintaining records, and reinforcing lessons. CPR/First Aid certification is required or must be obtained, with preference for current SCS employees.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college (minimum 48 semester hours) or passing ParaPro Assessment Test with one year of experience in education.
• Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Currently working in SCS as Educational Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist fall teachers in maintaining a well-organized classroom during fall term.
• Assist students with exercises and activities, focusing on individuals and small groups.
• Prepare instructional materials and organize classrooms for instruction and activities.
• Reinforce knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain student records, attendance, grading, and class-related data.
