Job summary

The Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers and guide students in a Christ-centered classroom within a Catholic school setting in Texas. The role focuses on preparing instructional materials, assisting with activities, and maintaining a safe, confidential learning environment.

Responsibilities include supervising students before and after school, upholding school policies, and collaborating with staff to deliver quality education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of study at a higher education institution; or an associate’s or higher degree; or equivalent instructional support experience.
• Experience working with children in day camps, youth groups, private schools, or similar settings.
• Reliable transportation; valid driver license; valid vehicle insurance.
• Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements and background screening; Texas DPS fingerprinting clearance.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the philosophy and mission of Catholic education.
• Assist teacher in planning, preparing materials, and guiding instructional activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure student safety in all settings.
• Supervise students before, during, and after school; manage classroom behavior and records.
• Collaborate with staff and professionals to create a quality instructional environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
