Job summary

The Archdiocese of San Antonio seeks an Instructional Assistant to support classroom teachers in a Catholic school environment. You will assist with planning, preparing materials, and supervising students in a Christ-centered setting.

Responsibilities include classroom support, student supervision, confidentiality of records, and coordination with staff to uphold school policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of study at a higher education institution or an associate’s degree or higher.
• Experience with children in day camps, youth groups, private schools or licensed day-care centers.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver license and auto insurance.
• Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements and background screening.
• Knowledge of school procedures; ability to adapt to different situations and schedules.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
• Physical ability to lift a student if required.

Responsibilities

• Supports the philosophy and mission of Catholic education in the school.
• Assists teachers in planning, preparing materials, and guiding instructional activities.
• Assists with preparation of instructional materials and classroom setup.
• Supervises students before, during, and after school as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of school matters and records.
• Escorts or transports students to and from classrooms as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
