Job summary

Habilitative Systems, Inc. (HSI) is seeking an Engagement Specialist - CFB in Chicago to build a sustainable network of faith-based supporters and serve as a liaison between behavioral health services and faith communities.

The role emphasizes organizing community meetings, hosting workshops, and promoting recovery support credentials to enhance access to care and collaboration across sectors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Seeking individuals with personal life experience.
• 1 year experience in substance-abuse, mental health, or related field preferred.
• Certification or completion of required training to be certified as a recovery support specialist within one year.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, vehicle and insurance.
• Flexibility to attend community meetings/events after hours and on weekends.
• Intermediate level PC and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize monthly meetings with faith-based leaders to assess mental health needs of congregations.
• Host weekly workshops and information sessions to foster understanding between faith-based communities and behavioral health providers.
• Facilitate connections between Peer Recovery Advocates and faith-based communities.
• Educate faith-based leaders on behavioral health topics such as mental health awareness, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention.
• Organize training sessions and summits around national observances to integrate mental health into ministry.
• Provide advocacy training to faith leaders to help congregants access services.
• Promote the CRSS credential and encourage faith-based individuals to pursue certification.
