Job summary

Habilitative-Systems, Inc. in Chicago, IL, seeks an Engagement Specialist - CFB to build a sustainable network of support between behavioral services and faith-based communities.

The incumbent acts as the primary liaison between HSI and faith-based constituents to foster understanding and collaboration on behavioral health needs, ensuring mental health is integrated into faith-based settings through relationships and outreach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Personal life experience a plus for the role.
• One year experience in substance-abuse, mental health, or related field preferred.
• Certification or completion of required training to be certified as a recovery support specialist within one year.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and insurance.
• Flexibility to attend community meetings/events after hours and on weekends.
• Intermediate level PC and Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Organize monthly meetings with faith-based leaders to assess mental health needs of communities.
• Host weekly workshops and information sessions (in-person and virtual).
• Facilitate connections between Peer Recovery Advocates and faith-based communities.
• Educate faith-based leaders on behavioral health topics and recovery support.
• Organize training sessions and observances to integrate mental health into ministry efforts.
• Provide advocacy training to faith leaders to support access to services.
