Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to perform advanced materials analysis using TEM, FIB, SEM, SIMS and XPS within a state-of-the-art semiconductor lab. The role requires collaboration with fab operations, interpretation of customer requests, and the development of robust analytical methods.

The candidate should have a Master’s in a relevant field and at least 1 year of lab experience, with willingness to work on-site in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience, preferably in supportingu Semicondctor R&D or HVM.

Responsibilities

• Support fab manufacturing operations and participate in the team’s on-call schedule to address urgent needs.
• Collaborate with customers and factory stakeholders to interpret requests, identify solutions, and provide actionable feedback.
• Perform advanced materials analysis using TEM, FIB, SEM, SIMS, and XPS for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve lab equipment issues to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
• Develop and improve analytical methods to enhance lab efficiency and capabilities.
• Assist and train technicians in resolving tool and process challenges while building their expertise.
• Willing to work in a cleanroom environment when needed.
• Follow lab safety protocols and cleanroom standards to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
• Occasionally handle chemicals with proper PPE as required for lab processes.
