Job summary

Daytona State College invites applications for a nine-month Instructor to teach in the construction-related field. The successful candidate will teach assigned courses, assist in curriculum development, prepare course reports and select textbooks, and use instructional technology to present content.

Day/evening scheduling is required. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, five years of field experience, and teaching credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a construction-related field.
• Preferred: Building Trades Vocational Certificate.
• Two years of teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses.
• Assists in curriculum development, course reports, and textbook selection.
• Uses instructional technology methods when presenting course content.
• Provides written course syllabus which includes classroom policies, procedures, grading, and learning outcomes.
• Uses appropriate and up-to-date course materials, including learning objectives, texts, and supplementary teaching materials.
• Applies classroom management strategies in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online format.
• Implements student assessment policies, such as testing or observation of skills.
• Submits grades or other course assessment reports in a timely manner.
• Manages routine classroom responsibilities in a professional manner.

Tenure and Promotion:

Schedule/Hours:
