NorthWest Arkansas Community College seeks an instructor for construction-related courses. Responsibilities include teaching, maintaining student records, and utilizing technology for both in-person and online instruction.
Candidates should have an Associate's degree, five years in the construction industry, and preferred teaching experience. Pay is $765 per credit hour. Join us to facilitate engaging learning experiences for students!
Responsibilities may include teaching nights, weekends, and/or online instruction. Prepare and deliver instruction to students. Effectively employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning. Stimulate class discussions and encourage active learning in all students. Maintain proper class‑related records. Contact students outside the classroom due to student absence to relay information related to class work and assignments. Maintain current knowledge in the field, vocation or profession. Promptly assess student coursework and apprise students of progress. Demonstrate an interest in using current and emerging technologies in the classroom and/or in online teaching. Curricula: Support the academic area and College through other work normally expected of adjunct faculty members.
Associate’s degree in a related field. Minimum of 5 years in the construction industry at a supervisory level.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the ability to obtain by the position start date. Teaching experience in the use, installation, operation, performance, maintenance, and safety associated with tools and techniques in the Construction Industry with an emphasis on Construction Materials, Carpentry skills, Estimating, Scheduling, Construction Codes, and other areas. NCCER instructor certification or the ability to obtain by position start date may be required.
$765 per credit hour.
