Job summary

Howden Re is seeking an Associate - Facultative Technical Assistant in New York to support brokers, prepare placement materials, and build client presentations. You will help track quotes, authorizations, and communications while editing large datasets in Excel and reviewing reinsurance contracts.

Candidates typically have 1–3 years of experience in reinsurance or underwriting, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in reinsurance, underwriting, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or business.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong analytical/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support brokers across the team.
• Create pre & post placement materials.
• Construct reinsurance submission materials.
• Track reinsurer quotes, authorizations, and communication.
• Build client presentations within PowerPoint.
• Review/edit large datasets within Excel and reinsurance contracts.
• Quantify impact of reinsurance structures on losses and financials.
• Research market trends.
