Job summary

Howden Re North America is seeking an Associate - Facultative Technical Assistant to support brokers, prepare placement materials, and analyze reinsurance structures. You will build presentations, edit large data sets in Excel, and research market trends while collaborating with a team and working independently.

The role requires 1–3 years in reinsurance or related field, a degree in risk management or finance, and strong communication skills. Authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a reinsurance, underwriting or related position & environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a business-related field.
• Interest in pursuing a career within Reinsurance.
• Proactive, creative and analytical thinker that works well independently and within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desire and interest to pursue an opportunity that is involving client related tasks.
• Ability to apply mathematical thinking in the business and insurance environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong time management skills and project management skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Highly motivated and committed to continually developing your professional skillset.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Supporting brokers across the team.
• Creating pre & post placement materials.
• Constructing reinsurance submission materials.
• Tracking reinsurer quotes, authorizations, and communication.
• Building client presentations within PowerPoint.
• Reviewing/editing documents such as large datasets within Excel, and reinsurance contracts.
• Quantifying the impact of various reinsurance structures on individual large losses and/or insurance company financials.
• Researching market trends.
