Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Cary, North Carolina, is seeking a FACTS Controls Engineer to join our Power Quality Solutions (PQS) team. You will design, program, test, verify, and commission control applications for FACTS installations and collaborate with global engineering teams.

The role uses the MACH control system with a hybrid work model and onsite three to four days per week in Cary, NC. Experience in power systems, control theory, and MATLAB is valued.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in EE or related field required.
• 5+ years of controls engineering in power systems.
• 2+ years programming across environments; PI/PID experience.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, control theory and power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain control algorithms for FACTS applications.
• Program and configure MACH control system to meet project requirements.
• Develop, test, and deploy control logic; conduct HIL testing.
• Create models and simulations for power electronics and power systems.
• Support factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and site startup.
• Produce technical documents, submittals, procedures, and test records.
• Collaborate with project teams, customers, and global engineering groups.
