Job summary
Hitachi Energy USA INC in Cary, North Carolina is seeking a FACTS Controls Engineer to design, develop, test, verify, and commission advanced control software for FACTS applications, working with the MACH control system to support power transmission projects.
The role requires a Master's or PhD in Power Systems, Power Electronics, Control Theory, or Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of controls engineering experience; it includes collaboration with global teams and offers a hybrid onsite work
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Power Systems, Power Electronics, Control Theory, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of controls engineering experience in power systems applications.
- 2+ years of programming across multiple environments and languages.
- Experience with PI/PID or similar control algorithms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain control algorithms for FACTS applications.
- Program and configure the MACH control system to meet project requirements.
- Perform control logic development, debugging, testing, and deployment activities.
- Conduct Hardware-in-the-Loop testing using real-time simulators.
- Create models and simulations for power electronics and power systems.
