Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking a Sacramento-based IT System Administrator to own the IT infrastructure for a major new sodium-ion factory. You will run buildout, manage end-user IT, and coordinate with Facilities, EHS, and contractors to enable production.

The role requires hands-on hardware and networking work in a live industrial setting, with growth opportunities as the site moves into steady-state production. On-site 5 days a week is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on IT experience including physical infrastructure work.
• Experience in construction, industrial, or factory environments with PPE.
• Solid networking knowledge: Wi‑Fi, switches, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, cabling standards.
• Familiarity with Azure AD/Entra and modern MDM/endpoint tools (Intune, etc.).
• Experience coordinating with contractors, installers, or vendors on IT installations.

Responsibilities

• Own IT infrastructure buildout at the Sacramento factory including cabling, closets, WAPs, and physical security systems.
• Lead end-user IT support for site employees: provisioning, imaging, endpoint management, on-site troubleshooting.
• Manage onsite onboarding/offboarding with People team.
• Support IT/OT boundary including MES and industrial network segmentation.
• Maintain relationships with local vendors and MSPs; align with corporate systems.
