Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking a Field Engineer in California to own hands-on site execution for deploying and commissioning sodium-ion energy storage systems. You will work with design engineers, technicians, and contractors, turning designs into working, serviceable systems and interfacing with customers during commissioning and service events.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical experience required; background as electrician, electrical technician, or test engineer preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, calculate electrical loads, and collaborate with design and field engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; batteries or power electronics background is a plus.
• Experience in field deployment or operations roles supporting hardware rollouts or energy systems.
• Familiarity with fleet operations, facilities project management, and site coordination.

Responsibilities

• Site Execution & Design Feedback: ensure field designs are practical and support long-term service.
• Troubleshoot field issues, run diagnostics, and feed learnings back into design and manufacturing.
• Documentation: maintain up-to-date service and troubleshooting manuals and change control.
• Tooling, Inventory & Budget Management: manage travel budgets, tools, parts, and spare parts inventory.
• Training & Technical Support: train field technicians and provide escalation support during deployments.
